About the Practice
San Fernando Valley Dentist Dr Oswald Burstein DDS, a 1983 graduate of UCLA Dental School, has been practicing dentistry in Sherman Oaks for more than 20 years. Dr Burstein is a member of the American Academy of cosmetic Dentistry (AACD), the largest organization in the world devoted to aesthetic dentistry. Dr Burstein has completed extensive post-doctoral training in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry at the world-renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and at the Academy for Aesthetic Professionals. At the Institute, Dr Burstein was specially trained in full mouth reconstruction, a process by which the bite is rebuilt in order to restore the totally or partially worn dentition. In addition, by specializing in smile makeovers, Dr Burstein creates dream smiles for his patients. This post doctoral training required, for his graduation, the treatment of patients with complex smile problems and of patients in need of full mouth reconstruction at the Las Vegas Institute.
Dr. Burstein is certified in conscious sedation dentistry. This allows the patient to undergo all of their dental treatment while they are sleeping. This is accomplished very safely by the use of oral medication. Dr. Burstein's training in neuromuscular dentistry allows him to treat patients with headaches, migraines and jaw problems. A featured article appeared in the Los Angeles Times regarding the training that places Dr. Burstein in the top 1% of dentists in North America in aesthetics skills.
