About the Practice

Important to the success and comfort of your dental experience is Dr. Stewart's team of trained assistants, hygienists and front office personnel. This team is excited about dentistry, especially cosmetic dentistry, and works hard to make your experience a pleasant one.

We have a special team of committed professionals at Dr. Stewart's office. They are a team committed to providing a quality, informed dental experience for each patient.

Dr. Stewart believes in, and values, continuing education courses, not only for himself, but also for his staff. All clinical staff members receive continuing education annually. When the state of Michigan allowed hygienists to administer local anesthesia, his hygienists went back to school to acquire this ability. When the state established a category for dental assistants with expanded duties, his first dental assistant went back to school and earned this degree. His team is constantly seeking to enhance their dental skills and understanding, putting them at the top of their profession.

Together his team has over 109 years of continuous service with Dr. Stewart. His first dental assistant and his first hygienist are still part of the team.

Following his graduation from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Dr. Bruce Stewart entered active duty in the United States Navy as a dentist. While in the Navy, he honed his skills in oral surgery, prosthodontics and endodontics. Following his discharge two years later, Dr. Stewart and his family moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he established his dental practice.

Wanting to provide his patients with an exceptional level of care, Dr. Stewart pursued education in cosmetic dentistry. He excelled in this field, and was the first dentist in Michigan to be awarded accredited status in the American Academy of Dentistry (AACD). Committed to remaining on the leading edge of dentistry, Dr. Stewart has taken more than 1,000 hours of continuing education.

His expertise is so respected, he was invited to serve on the Accreditation Review Board. He has since served two terms as the Accreditation Chairperson, two terms as Fellowship Chairperson and one term on the Board of Directors of the organization. On behalf of the AACD, Dr. Stewart has taught advanced accreditation techniques at accreditation workshops to groups of aspiring Cosmetic dentists persuing accredidation.
